Service Description

A comprehensive two-day intensive program designed to equip mental health professionals* with the tools to deliver evidence-based CPT. Trainees will master protocols for treating PTSD through structured sessions including assessment, impact statements, and cognitive restructuring. Led by Dr Marja Elizabeth and Professor Reg Nixon, both experienced CPT trainers and researchers specialising in evidence-based treatment for PTSD. They combine extensive clinical experience with research into improving the effectiveness and flexibility of CPT, while maintaining treatment fidelity. Please note the cost covers training only; refreshments and lunch are not provided. The venue is equipped with microwaves and a fridge. Parking is free. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own manual and must bring the manuals to the sessions (Resick, P. A., Monson, C. M., & Chard, K. M. (2024). Cognitive processing therapy for PTSD: A comprehensive therapist manual (2nd ed.). The Guilford Press). The training cost reflects the participants own purchase of the manual. * This training is available for practitioners only; i.e., participants need to have a mental health qualification such as a diploma of counselling, diploma in AoD counselling, degree in social work or psychology, nursing, psychiatry etc. If you are unsure about your eligibility to take part, please email Dr Marja Elizabeth at marjaelizabethpsychology@gmail.com.

A full refund (minus booking processing fees) is provided if you cancel at least 14 days prior to the training event. If you can no longer attend the 2-day workshop, you can transfer your registration to a colleague, provided you notify in advance of the change in name and details.
